For Participants
If you have contributed, or are considering contributing, biological samples or health-linked data to a CoreX program, this page explains in plain language what that involves and what your rights are.
What is collected
Depending on the program, this may include a small biological sample, such as a blood or skin sample used to derive cells, along with limited health-linked information needed for research. Only what is described in your consent document is collected.
Why biological samples may be used
Samples can be used to create living, donor-specific models of selected biological systems. These models help researchers study how medicines behave in human biology, with the goal of safer and more precise medicine.
What a Bio-Avatar is
A Bio-Avatar is a living, donor-specific model of selected biological systems, such as heart, liver, or kidney tissue models grown from your cells. It is a research model. It is not a copy of you, and it is not used to diagnose or treat you.
What CoreX does not do
CoreX does not sell unapproved therapies, does not provide medical advice or treatment through this work, and does not use your biological material outside the permissions in your consent. CoreX does not claim to clinically reverse aging.
Privacy and data protection
Health-linked data is handled under applicable data-protection and ethics requirements, with controlled access, secure infrastructure, and audit logging. Data is used for the purposes described in your consent.
Commercial research
CoreX works with pharmaceutical, biotech, government, and health-system partners. Research using donor-derived models may support commercial drug development. Your consent document explains how this applies to your contribution.
Withdrawal rights
You can ask questions at any time and may withdraw your consent as described in your consent document. Some research already completed before withdrawal may not be reversible, and your consent document explains what withdrawal does and does not affect.
